New Year's Eve in Cottbus

The Cottbuser folk put on a wonderful fireworks show on New Year's Eve at midnight. I took this video from my living room.

  1. Nice. Like watching the Detroit 4th of July fireworks without having to stand out in the cold of winter. How'd did you manage to get such a good seat to watch? Luck I guess, that your living room is on that side of the apartment, that is the direction from which they set off the fireworks, and there just doesn't happen to be any obstructions in the way, like tall buildings. Lucky you.
    Happy New Year Laurie!!!

  2. There were fireworks going off next to every apartment building and in every business parking lot. What you see here is just the direction of downtown Cottbus, but even just outside my window there were fireworks being shot up above my building out of the camera's view, to the left next to the neighboring building, in the Aldi parking lot also to the left, in my courtyard visible from my bedroom, in the courtyard behind the building across from my bedroom, in the Rewe parking lot, and on and on and on. Everywhere.

  3. Wow! Interesting. They like fireworks, eh? Like the Lines like to shoot off fireworks at the stroke of midnight on New Year's Eve. This year we didn't hear them this year though b/c we were at a little party at Beems. No fireworks there.
